Notes
- Mississippi Marriages, 1776-1935
Mary A. Bennett
Spouse Joseph W. Philpott
Marriage 27 Jan 1853 Alcorn County
In 1860 Mary and Joseph are in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, but I see that their first son John W was born in Mississippi. Some later censuses report him born in Alabama, some say Mississippi. He is 6 years old here, so if he was born in Alabama they moved to Mississippi after 1854, when John was born in Alabama. But if the 1860 census is the correct one, they would have moved from Alabama before 1854.

The census reports J W as married, rather than widowed. I have not found any family genelalogy that has a death date or burial information for Mary Bennett Philpot. This is the last census in which I have found J W. His son James Isaac moved to Indian Territory.
