One genealogy provides some helpful information on some of the Winter family that appears to be from family sources (limited documentation provided), but has some anomalies. For instance this tree reports that Lucinda Haney, wife of Wiley B Winter and mother of Nelson, was born in New Jersey, while the only documentation provided in the tree is the 1880 census. This census, like all documentation, reports her born in Tennessee, as well as both her parents. The date here also differs from age information in censuses. She was born about 1829 or 1830. Lucinda Haney Birth 1825 in New Jersey [!!!] Death 24 Dec 1917 in Non, Hughes, Oklahoma Spouse Wiley B Winter b 1822 -- Horn/Crawford, http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/9058309/person/651142341 Lucinda's husband Wiley B Winter died sometime between the 1870 and 1880 censuses. Note that her birthday as reported here has been read by some genealogy compilers as July 1824, but her age is 70! The age is consistent with other censuses, meaning her birthday would be 1829. The year here has been misinterpreted because the top of the 9 is faded and on first glance can appear unclosed. The age matches every other census, where her age puts her birth year at 1829-30, except for 1880, which would be 1832. 1910 Federal Census, Hughes County, Oklahoma, 7-10 May, Stuart Township, District 113, page 8B-9A, Hse/Fam #159 Winters, James N Head M W 44 Married 21yrs TX AL TN Farmer Owns -- page 9A 10 May -- Winters, Pracilla Wife F W 41 Married 21yrs 1 children/0 living TN TN KY Winters, Lucinda Mother F W 80 Widow TN TN TN No Occupation
After some time after the death of her husband, Molly moved in with her daughter Mary Gracy Jackson, whose husband Enoch died in 1927. In the 1930 census, Hannah is a widow, living with her widowed daughter Mary. The son Jeff was originally listed as Head of the household, although that was corrected later to make Mary head. But the relationship of the others in the household was still given in reference to Jeff. So Molly Gracy is listed as his grandmother. 1930 Federal Census, Love County, Oklahoma, 12 April, Hickory Township, District 4, page 5A, Hse #91, Fam #93 Jackson, Jeff Head/Son Rents M W 17 Single OK OK TX Farmer Jackson, Mary Mother/Head F W 48 Widow TX GA TX [b abt 1882] No Occupation Jackson, Ethel Sister [Daughter] F W 13 Single OK OK TX No Occupation Jackson, Lee Brother [Son] M W 10 Single OK OK TX No Occupation Gracy, Molly GrandMother [Mother] F W 69 Widow TX GA MS No Occupation The age for Molly here is close to what we would expect for Hannah, born abt 1866 (from census age) and reported as age 69 here. To be 69 in 1930, she was born about 1861. Error on both ends means that is pretty close. Her birthday was reported in the 1900 census as December 1865, which would mean her age should have been 64 at the time of the 1930 census A Texas Death Index entry seems to match our listings for Molly and Hannah W with the name Millie Walker Hannah Gracy, died 14 January 1940 in Wilbarger County, Texas, just over the Texas border and a bit west from Love County where we have all the other reports of her.

One genealogy gives a date of death for James, 1840, but has no place, and provides no documentation or explanation.
Sources are spotty for James Marshal Harkins. But some family genealogies, report him born in South Carolina, matching the 1850 census report.. Reports for an alternative birthplace are North Carolina and Georgia. South Carolina is most surely the correct state. Some family sources spell his middle name Marshal while others have Marshall.
