Notes for Nora HEARN

Nora married Oliver Chapel about 1906. The location is uncertain. The 1900
census reported Oliver living in his mother's home in Parker County, Texas,
west of Fort Worth. They were originally from Cass County, Texas, bordering
Louisiana, not far from Texarkana. In the 1910 census, Nora was reported born
in Louisiana, but later censuses re[port her born in Texas, and her death
certificate says she was born in Cass County, Texas.

This suggests that Oliver and Nora met in Cass County, but they were not
married before Oliver's mother moved them to Parker County. In 1910, Nora and
Oliver is married are in Choctaw County, Oklahoma. His mother is now living
in their household.

What appears to be her father and sister are living next door, a Frank and
Lula Hurst. Frank's birth in Virginia matches what Myrtle reported for her
parents in her record.

By 1920, Myrtle and Howard were divorced and he was living in Phoenix,
Arizona, with his mother and two siblings, and was reported in the census as
single. In 1930 he was reported as Divorced. This may mean they had
separated before the 1920 census but the actual divorce came later. But it
may just be one of those common status errors we find for divorced couples.

Following up on Myrtle was a bit puzzling. There is a 1920 record also in
Falls County for another Thelma Christian born about the same time as Myrtle's
daughter. But her parents are George W and Stella Christian. I cannot place
them with our Christian clan. From the entry in the 1920 census, I was able
to find George and Stella in the 1910 census, where he is reported as Willis,
correlating with his middle initial in 1920. They were enumerated in Justice
Precinct 7, while Howard and Myrtle were enumerated in JP 1.

They both had a daughter names Thelma. Her birth record in Milam County,
Texas, tells us that George and Stella's daughter was named Thelma Faye
Christian. She was originally called Nannie, but in 1970, her mother Della
(Lucas by this time) filed for an amendment to register the name as Thelma
Faye Chrtisitan.

I have not found a birth record for Myrtle and Howard's daughter.

Suzanne's Gwynne's genealogy provides Myrtle's maiden name, spelled Hearst,
but also lacks the death and burial information we are seeking. Her parents
are also unknown.

her second husband. He spells her maiden name Hurst.

Earl Hooper reports an entry in the 1915 San Diego City Directory for Myrtle
Christian for the wife of Howard Samuel Christian. This record, however,
reports her as the widow of an H T Christian. Our Howard lived until 1944.
Similar entries are found in the 1917 -1927 directories.

But other records clarify that this Myrtle Christian was indeed the widow of
one Harfield Timberlake Christian, born in Kentucky. This Myrtle was Myrtle M

census.

Notes for Marie Blanche HEBERT

---------------------
Patience Hannah Bird

Patience Hannah Bird was the daughter of Jonathan Bird and Marie Blanche
Hebert (pronounced abair). Marie Blanche was born an Hebert in Acadia and was
deported by the British along with her husband John Cellier in 1755. They
were sent by ship to Philadelphia where they detained aboard ship for a time.
John Cellier died a couple of years after that and Marie Blanche Hebert
eventually married Jonathan Bird.

Marie Blanche and Cellier are well documented in Acadian lineage and Marie
Blanche Hebert traces back to the original settlers of Acadia. Any questions
you may have about this can be followed up on the Acadian genealogy group on
Facebook. I have absolutely no info on Jonathan Bird past the fact that he
married Marie Blanche.
