He commonly went by Lloyd/Loyd/Loid. The correct spelling of the middle name may be Loid. His Social Security records spell the name Loyd. A directory listing with a matching birth date and the location matching other records give him the middle initial of W. His obituary gives his full name as Loyd William. It is spelled Loid in the 1930 census, and this is the spelling used by a cousin, Beverly Mixon Hill, in correspondence with me on members of the family. But several official documents that seem to be for this person spell it Lloyd. In the obituary of his brother Elvin, his name is spelled Lloyd. Directory listings for a Lloyd W Jackson seems to match this person. The first entry of the children originally had been Jackson, Mabel C. But then there is a write-over and the designation daughter is written over as Son, and the F changed to M for gender. It appears that when the enumerator asked for the name of their eldest child, the parents mentioned their daughter Mabel, and the enumerator had already written her name before they finished explaining that she had just been married and had moved out. Instead of crossing out the entry, the enumerator wrote over the name making it almost illegible. But one can just make out the overwritten name as something like Ernest E. The enumerator had not yet written in the birth date, so the date is readable as Ernest's birth date of 1884. Since a couple of entries below in her record Mabel reports her birth date as October 1880, this confirms the birth order and supports the scenario based on the confused and corrected record for Ernest ( or similar name) for her brother, born 4 years later. Another thing I note in the two census reports here is that Mabel reports the birth states of her parents reversed from what they do. In the 1910 census, she reports them both born in Michigan. 1900 Federal Census, White County, Arkansas, 9 June, Searcy, District 149, page 11B, Hse #191, Fam #213 Jackson, John C Head W M Mar 1860 40 Married 20 yrs MI OH IN Machinist Owns Jackson, Anna Wife W M Mar 1860 40 Married 20 yrs 2 children/2 living IN IN IN Jackson, Ernest E Dau W M July 1884 15 Single AR MI IN Jackson, Mava I Dau W F Feb 1886 14 Single AR MI IN Jackson, George E Son W M Dec 1888 11 Single AR MI IN Jackson, Carl M Son W M Mar 1890 10 Single AR MI IN Jackson, Blanche Dau W F June 1898 2 Single AR MI IN Note that Mabel's parents John and Anna have the same month of birth in the same year. The 1900 census reports the wife of Seaborn J Mullins as Margarette, age 62. At least one genealogy reports that Seaborn marrried a Magarite Bailey in 1866. No marriage record is attached. The census reports they had been married 34 years, which matches that report. His record of marriage with Sarah Ann Bailey, however, is dated in 1854. This would indicate a scond marriage 12 years later. 1900 Federal Census, Hamilton County, Tennessee, 1 June, Civil District 15, Enumeration District 71, pages 1B, Hse #16, Fam #17 Mullins, Seaborn J Head W M Apr 1833 67 Married 34 yrs [mar abt 1866] GA SC SC Farmer Rents Mullins, Margarette Wife W F --- 1848 62 Married 34 yrs 7 child/6 living TN GA GA Mullins, William Son W M Oct 1898 1 GA GA TN Mullins, Virginia Dau W F Jan 1879 21 GA GA TN Day Laborer Mullins, Edna Dau W F June 1886 13 GA GA TN The death certificate of their son John Seborn Mullins and their daughter Julia M Mullins Gordy reported his parents as Margaret Jackson and Seborn Mullins. Simons Genealogy, William H Criswell Family, (no longer online) reports birth in Mississippi. But census reports birth in Alabama, same for husband William. They lived in Attala County, Mississippi, and I think the compiler of the Simons genealogy took that as birthplace. James was born in Alabama. His father was born in South Carolina. It makes sense with the westward progress of the family, as William's and Martha's families both moved on from Alabama to Mississippi, where they both grew up and then married. William and Martha moved from Mississippi to Arkansas. I am following the 1900 census report for birth in April 1840 in Alabama. 16 June 1900, Prairie Township, District 7, Page 11B, Hse #192, Family #195 Martha A Criswell Wife W F Apr 1840 60 Alabama Georgia Georgia According to the available information, Martha Jackson Criswell was bearing children over a period of 25 years! Mary and Matilda were two different women, sisters, who married brothers.in the 1850 census, all members oif the household were reported by only initials, except for Isaac and one child of a different surname. The firsdt child mentioed, 17-year-old W J Green, does not appear in the genealogy above. If the first teo chidren ar sons of Isaac and Matilda, they war twins, being both reported as 17 years old. The form of letters of this enumerator are diffiucult to decipher, with several letters looking very much alike, and some not like standard forms. It looks like the second one is I M. The first initial looks very much like the I in Isaac. But it is probably meant to be J M, which matches James M in the list of children found above and in other sources. 1850 Federal Census, Hall County, Georgia, 21 August, page 707 (scan page 353), Hse/Fam #83 Isaac Green 49 M Farmer $750 Real Estate b South Carolina [b abt 1801] M Green 42 F South Carolina Cannot read or write [b abt 1808, matches wife Matilda Jackson] W J Green 17 M Laborer Georgia [unmatched in family genealogy lists of children, oldest child reported as Tyree] J M Green 17 M Laborer Georgia [close to James M, but initial looks like I instead of J] T R Green 14 F Georgia [possibly Frances L Green] T B Green 12 M Laborer Georgia [matches Thomas Benton] M E Green 10 F Georgia [known only by initials] A Green 7 F Georgia [Armilda] D O Green 6 M Georgia [D Oliver or Oliver D] Leroy McCutchin 2 M b Georgia [last name appears to be Green, McCutchin middle name] 1860 Federal Census, Hall County, Georgia, 2 June, page 5, Hse #41, Fam #36 Isaac Green 59 M Farmer $1000 Real Estate $1000 Personal b South Carolina [b abt 1801] Matilda Green 51 F South Carolina Cannot read or write [b abt 1809] M E Green 20 F Georgia [b abt 1840] Armilda Green 17 F Georgia [b abt 1843] Oliver Green 14 M b Georgia [b abt 1846] L M Green 12 F Georgia [b abt 1848]

A census record for 1860 seems to match Moses Andrew Jackson, but he is living in Dallas with a Witt family. No further conneciton has been established for Moses with the Witt family. Moses is working on the Witt farm in 1850. His family was living in Collin County, just north of Dallas County, so they were probably neighbors. 1850 Federal Census, Dallas County, Texas, 6 November, page 157 (scan 79), Hse/Fam #97 W H Witt 27 M Farmer $1000 Real Estate b Illinois [b abt 1823] Lurany Witt 24 F b Illinois [b abt 1826] Lucy V Witt 5 F b Illinois [b abt 1845] John F Witt 2 M b Texas [b abt 1848] George Witt 1 M b Texas [b abt 1849] Levie Stephens 16 M Labourer b Illinois [b abt 1834] Moses Jackson 20 M Labourer b Illinois [b abt 1830] The Maynard genealogy is helpful to establish Moses' line of descent. Moses' father was Shadrack or Shadrick Jackson (1800-1878) and his mother Mary Prudence Finley (1800 - 1858). Shadrack is sometimes found as Shadrick. In fact, his gravestone in Collin County has the name spelled Shadrick. Shadrick was born in Wake County, North Carolina, just north of Raleigh. Moses was born in Green County, Illinois, according to the Maynard genealogy. By 1860 Moses was married and living near the Red River across from Chickasaw Nation with his new wife Anna B Hyatt. In February 2016 details were found about both their families in genealogies. The Maynard genealogy, reports that Moses and Anna were married in Collin County, Texas. A Jackson is Abraham, and many of his descendants and relatives have been trying to determine which line of Jacksons Abraham came from. We have been unable to clearly connect Abraham to other Jacksons. In February 2016, further information was found about Moses' Jackson line and the Maynard has no Abraham. Shadrack Jackson was born in North Carolina, while Abraham was born in Alabama. Their lines coudl still be relatred, but the definite conneciotn has not been confirmed. The closest is this residence in the household of Moses Andrew Jackson. Genealogies that have Moses' parents and other family members have no member named Abraham. So their relationship is tenuous. It could be they just happen to have the same last name. There are many unrelated lines of Jacksons who wound up in areas of north Texas and Indian Territory. Abraham's wife is Telitha Green, who was born in Georgia, and whose father Toliver brought his family to Cooke County, Texas, before the 1860 census, when they were enumerated in or near Gainesville, a town on the Red River. Toliver's daughter Talitha married Abraham Jackson 15 May 1860 in Cooke County. Here a few weeks later we find them living with this Moses Jackson. The other member of Abe and Talitha's family James has not been otherwise identified or tied to any lineage either. 1860 Federal Census, Cooke County, Texas, 21 July, Gainesville, page 59 (scan 254), Hse #484, Fam #502 A Jackson 23 M Farmer born Alabama [b abt 1837] Talitha Jackson 17 born Georgia [b abt 1843] James Jackson 25 M born Alabama [b abt 1835] Toliver Green owned land a little north of Gainesville in the Sivells Bend area, near the Red River where it curves north then flows back south then southwest to give the Texas-Oklahoma border a jigsaw puzzle look. Several genealogies report that Moses Jackson's wife was Anna B Hyatt, and give her place of birth as Green County, Indiana. One reports she was born in Bartholomew County (Columbus area). But none give any documentation source for their information. The 1870 census reinforces the report of Anna's birth in indiana. She is the head of the household, probably indicating that Moses died before the 1870 census. Mariatal status was not reported in 1870, so we are not certain from this alone that Moses had died. Most of the men in the border towns of Texas were engaged in the Texas State Troops and or the Confederate Army, defending the border and the southern Indian Territory allies from attack by the North and their Native American allies and western Indian tribes. But it woudl not appear that Moses died in the war, because their last chikld was born about 1867. 1870 Federal Census, Denton County, Mississippi, 17 August, Precinct #4, PO Denton, page 1 (scan #117), Hse/Fam #2 Jackson, Anna B 30 F W Keeping House $300 Real Estate $300 Personal b Indiana [b abt 1840] Jackson, Charlotte 13 F W At Home born Texas [b 1857] Cannot write Jackson, James 11 M W At Home born Texas [b 1859] Cannot read or write Jackson, Mary E 9 F W At Home born Texas [b 1861] Jackson, Frederic 7 M W At Home born Missouri [b 1863] Jackson, Rosetta 3 F W At Home born Texas [b 1867]

In the 1860 census in Attala County, Mississippi, Samuel Oliver is obviously Saml O from the 1860 census, and Margaret Ann matches the nickname Peggy A for the younger daughter, though the birth date in the genealogy is earlier than the age in 1860 would have indicated, not an unusual situation. 1860 Federal Census, Attala County, Mississippi, 18 September, PO Attalaville, page 203 (scan #463), Hse #1280, Fam #1399 E Jeff Jenkins 39 M Farmer $7375 Real Estate $14,000 Personal born SC Sally Jenkins 42 M Housekeeper born SC Saml O Jenkins 17 M Farm Laborer b Miss Peggy A Jenkins 14 F born Miss Saml Spears 55 M Carpenter b SC Geo P Jackson 14 M b Ala Wm A Jackson 18 M Laborer in Farm b Ala One interesting factor in this 1860 census is the presence of two Jackson teens in the household with them, working on the farm. They are George P and William A. These two were born in Alabama, like Nancy Jackson. The ages of the Jackson boys is close to the ages of the two Jenkins children in the household. Nancy herself was young, born in about 1844, and thus about 14 in 1860. I have not found the Jackson family living nearby, but these two boys are working on the farm, and living in with the Jenkinses. This is likely how Ephraim and Nancy met. A descendant suggests that Ephraim and Nancy were never even married. "Marriage to Ephraim - According to all accounts,he was not married to Nancy. Rather had an affair on Sarah and was run out of town after birth of his and Nancy's first child. Not sure if he ever really divorced Grandma Sarah or if just let everyone believe he and Nancy were really married." -- Donna Winstead, comment on Nancy Ann Jackson on Ancestry, 26 February 2015 Their first child was bornin Mississippim, but then they had to leave town, and their next chidl was born in Texas. Before 1870, Ephraim and Nancy moved to Arkansas County, Arkansas, and was enumerated in the White River town of St Charles, But after leaving Mississippi, probably after the Civil War ended, they first moved down to Texas for a period of time, where their daughter Georgiana (Georgia Anna) was born in about 1868. So they got to St Charles around 1869, no earlier than late 1868. 1870 Federal Census, Arkansas County, Arkansas, 1 July, Prairie Township, PO St Charles, page 6, Hse/Fam #42 Jenkins, Ephriam [sic] J 45 M W b SC [b abt 1825] Jenkins, Nancy 26 F W b AL Jenkins, Charles 4 M W b MS Jenkins, Georgiana 2 F W b TX "Ephraim met Nancy, they had an affair and Charles was the result; I heard that he was run out of Ms. along with Nancy and baby Charles. Her birth surname was Jackson, and she had been married to a Yeary. We have no indication of why she would have a surname of Green. Her mother was Telitha Green. Her father was Abraham Jackson. Marion Mixon, my cousin and co-researcher, who first discovered the marriage register recording N E Green and J A Martin, has suggested that there was an error in recording that confused Nancy's surname with her mother's maiden name. Nancy's first husband was named Yeary (first name unknown) in abt 1890. They had one child, Jim Yeary. The 1910 census of Nancy and James Martin reports this was James' first marriage and Nancy's second. This would mean Nancy's first marriage was with Mr Yeary (first name unkknown). 1910 Federal Census, Parker County, Texas, 27 April, Justice Precinct 6, District 83, page 4A, Hightower Valley of Brazos River, Hse #69, Fam #70 Martin, Jim A Head M W 38 Marriage 1 Married 16 years Louisiana Louisiana Louisiana Farmer Rents Martin, Nancy E Wife F W 47 Marriage 2 Married 16 years Texas US Georgia Martin, Jesse A Son M W 14 Texas Louisiana Texas Laborer Home Farm Martin, Elbert E Son M W 14 Texas Louisiana Texas Laborer Home Farm Martin, Lily C Dau M W 9 Oklahoma Louisiana Texas Martin, Leeloo A Son M W 6 Oklahoma Louisiana Texas Obituary "Mrs J A C Martin, 49 years of age, died at her home between Anneta [Annetta] and Aledo last Monday [27 July 1914] at an early hour after an illness from typhoid fever.
