The 1920 and 1930 census reports that Pansy and her sister were born in North Carolina.  But her obituary reports that she was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, even stating the orignial town of Fingerville.

Pansy's sister Laura's obit also reported that Laura was born in Spartanburg, but her North Carolina Delayed birth certificate indicates Laura was born in Polk County, North Carolina.  Probably Pansy was too.  It appers their brother Odell was born in Spartanburg County after they moved down there.  However, in the 1920 census, Odell was also reported as born in North Carolina.  Family memory may have remembered the place of residence where they moved as the birth place of Pansy.

One nudge in that direction is perhaps the 1940 census, which reports everyone in the household, including Lizzie, as born in South Carolina.
