• Uriah is reported under a variations of his name.  His grave has his name as Rier.  In 1900 the census reported him as Riah, more recognizably a short form of Uriah.  Rier is simply the local pronunciation of Riah, in the common faashion of adding r to words ending in a vowel.  This shows up commonly in names like Ader (for AdaLavader (for Lavada), Rether (for Aretha), etc.  The 1910 census has a more complete name, the Greek variation Urias of the Hebrew Uriah, known from the Old Testament.
