In the 1860 census, in the same area, Francis' mother Mary Ann is not in the family.  Two more children are reported.  She must have died after the birth of the last child here in about 1864,  She may have died in childbirth.  Monroe in 1860 matches Francis in 1850.  He is later referred to as Monroe also.

There is a emorial on Find a Grave for a burial that matches information for Monroe, and he is buried in the same cemetery as his father.  But his father's name on the grave is spelled Winters, while Monroe's is Winter.  We are told that this cemetery is in pooor repair, with many stones damaged and missing, now on private land.  Note that this memorial reports the date of birth as June 28, but there is no yea.  The actual date, from family souces, is June 23, 1845.  In a hard-to-read sandstone marker, 3 and 8 are hard to distinguish.
