The following may represent our Alfred Green's service in the Civil War.  I note that a biography (see below) rpeorts he was in the 5th Regiment, but Company K.  Regiments in that time were sometimes renumbered as a state regiment is incorported into a broader force, or forces are realigned, or reassigned.

A burial memorial for Eliza Ellen Decker Green is linked to Alfred's memorial on Find a Grave, reporting her as his wife.  The name matches the censuses available.  The grave marker for Eliza Ellen Decker reprots she died on 21 March 1868.

In the 1870 census the second person reported, normally where the wife is reported, is also named Eliza.  This Eliza Green is keeping house, but this census did not report relationships to the head of the household.  But she is only 21 years old.  Since the first child Olive (Olevia) is 8 years old, this unidentified Eliza could not be the mother of these children.  Did Alfred marry a second wife named Eliza?  Or is this a niece or other relative?  This Eliza was born about 1849 in Missouri.  A family genealogy referenced on Eliza's FAG memorial indiocates she was born in 1845 in Missouri.

No 1880 census record has been confirmed for Alfred.

    -----------------
The following 1880 census record appears to match Alfred.  The wife is also named Eliza, but is about 10 years older than the Eliza in the 1870 household.  But the children are more like a similar family of Andrew McClure Green, born in Missouri, and his wife Eliza Jane Huff.  They are buried in the Greenwood (City) Cemetery in Weatherford, while Alfred and Eliza are buried in Clark Cemetery, in the rural area north of Weatherford.  Indications are that Alfred and his Eliza and family lived on a farm in the county.

No connection has been confirmed between Andrew McClure Green and Alfred Green's family.  Andrew's parents are identified by links on their burial memorials on Find a Grave as Zedekiah Samuel Green (1803 - 1873) snd Susanna McClure Green (1811 - 1888) from North Carolina.

There are several lines of Greens in Parker County and nearby counties who are not connected or whose connections are uncertain, some married into the same families  in the county and neaighboring areas.  Andrew McClure Green and Eliza Jane Huff had one son named Zedediah, who may be reported in the second child here, whose name in this censews was written over and confused, difficult to read.

    -----------------

Alfred's grave marker does have his name as A M  Green, matching the above census.  The age and resulting birth date of A M Green in the census is closer to Andrew, born in 1829, than to Alfred, born in 1833 (according to his grave).  AM's wife EG in 1880 is about 10 years older that the 21 years of the young Eliza in Alfred's hosuehold in 1870, hwo may not even be his second wife.  Their birth states differ as do Andrew's and Alfred's.  But Alfred's biography-obit (see end of notes) reports that Eliza Decker Green died in 1868.

In 1900, Alferd was living in the household of his son Raleigh, again in the rural Precinct 2 of Parker County.  His obit below reports he died on his own farm, so it is not clear if in 1900 he was in Raliegh's household on Raleigh's farm (he is reported as owning the farm) or Raleigh's home was on the same farm land.

No absolute dates are provided, no date on the published obituary was available, so the obituary provides no date of death.  His grave has the death date as 15 November 1907, matching Friday as reported by the obit.  From the language of the obituary, we can tell the article was published the day of burial, which the headline announced as Saturday, the day after death.
