They were enumerated in the 1870 census.  There are numerous Gregory children in the household, indicating Julian Lewis' children, born from Philip's first marriage.  It appears Martha's Crawford children are in the household also.  It is unclear who the Hodge girl is

From the ages of the younger children, it appears that Phillip married Martha about 1870.  Mary was born about 1871 and Mattie about 1873.  Martha's last child with Mr Crawford was born about 1858, according to his age of 22 in 1880.  All the Gregory children were born in Arkansas, so we can conclude that Julian's death and Phillip's marriage to Martha took place in Arkansas.  Likewise the death of Martha's first husband, Mr Crawford.

This is confirmed by their marriage record found in Washington County, Arkansas.  They married in 1867.  For some reason this record has only the year.

Arkansas, Washington County Marriage Records, 1845-1941
    Phillip Gregory
    Spouse Martha Crawford
    Year 1867 Washington, Arkansas, USA

That would mean that Julian Lewis died some time between 1962 and 1867, the approximate birth date of her last child Sterling.  This means that Mary and Mattie are Martha's daughters.  They moved from Arkansas to Texas some time after 1873, the approximate birth year of their youngest sister Mattie in Arkansas.
