  In the 1900 census, Fannie is reported with the name Ida F.  The F os course stands for Frances, but now the initial E of 1870 is not accounted for.  It was probably an enumerator error artifact, since the mother and one other sister had an initial E.  Probably entered by reflecx if they did not give a middle initial.

  Some genealogies identify this Ida Frances Gregory as one Frances E Autrey, who died in Sacramento, California.  This is not otherwise substantiated, but note that in the 1880 census the last child was reported as Fannie E Gregory, the same as her mother.
