The listing is a little confusing, because the enumerator lists both sons, then both wives then the children. I could not tell which woman was the wife of which brother, but Ancestry.com has deciphered this as showing that Zora is the wife of Claude and Etta is the wife of Sydney.
I don't know how they determined this, but it is wrong. In the 1930 census I have not been able to find Claude but his borther Syd (Sid) is enumerated in Harris County with his wife Zora. Nelson died in 1927 and I have not found Margaret in the 1930 census.
Note that the ages in 1910 and 1920 both match a birth year of about 1895, compared to the 1900 census reported birth date of October 1892.

Claude Coleman Winter's sp. Etta Lillie Pickett Winter died at approx. 27 yrs old [thus b abt 1895]
Claude & Etta had a child: Clothida "Tillie" Clarice Winter. She was b. 1916 & was about 6 yrs old when her mother died [abt 1922]. Claude was unable to take care of her by himself. His sister Julia Edna begged him to let her and her husband raise her since they were childless. So Tillie the d/o Claude was actually raised by her aunt & uncle. Claude did not have any other children.

The age of their daughter Mary indicates that Carl and Mary been married about 1938 or earlier. Before finding this 1940 census, I had not been able to find a marriage record, though Texas records are online. The birth record of the daughter might be available, now that I have her name.
The designation of Josephine Arriaga as the daughter-in-law of Carl indicates this is Mary's daughter from a previous marriage. Since Josephine is married, her surname, and her mother's married name, is not known. But Manuel Benitez is designated as Carl's stepson. THus Mary's married name was Benitez.
The relationshp designation for Josephine is somewhat confusing, having initially "Daughter-in" but then the "in" was marked through. On the line for Anthony Arriage, the designaiton first written was Step-daughter, then that was marked out, apparently because it was on the wrong line, and likely intended for Josephine. Anthony is then designated as Son-in-law.

His death certificate, like the 1940 census, has his name as Carl Christian. The names of his father and mother are correct, and the birth date is the same. I wonder if Claude legally changed his name? The informant here is named simply Mrs Mary Winter, which would seem to indicate that she was his wife.
