Mrs. Ada Gregory to Be Buried Sunday

Okolona relatives and friends were grief stricken Tuesday morning when news was received of the sudden death of Mrs. Ada Gregory, who passed away about eight o'clock that morning in New London, Ohio. Although she had not felt well for a few days, her condition was not considered serious until Monday night when she suffered a hear attack. She died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. T H Smith, where she had spent most of her time the past few years.

The former Miss Ada Knowles, she was born in Tennessee in June 1869. As a child she came to this section with other members of her family and spent most of her life in and near Okolona. In 1888 she was married to W H Gregory, who died in July 1929. Since that time she had spent much of the time with her children.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and faithful friend. She possessed a gentle and sweet manner and was loved by a wide circle of associates. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Final rites for Mrs. Gregory will be held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John H Stone Sr. The services will be conducted by the Rev. G C Gregory pastor of the Okolona Methodist Church, and the Rev. T E Gregory, of Houlka, former pastor of the Okolona Methodist Church. Burial will be in the I O O F Cemetery with Barry Funeral Home in charge.

The pallbearers will be Delbert Barnes of New London, Eugene Gregory Jr., of Memphis, Richard E Stone, W H Gregory, Ben Gregory and Jack Gregory.

In addition to Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Gregory is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Douglass Renshaw of New London; two sons, Eugene Gregory Sr., of Memphis and W A Gregory; four brothers, Howard Knowles, Baxter Knowles, Arthur Gray Knowles and William Knowles; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
