This genealogy and others follow the spelling of the censuses. I received the name from the Green family as Inghram. This genealogy reports that James Madison Ingram did not die until 1954, yet his wife Alpharetta is reported as a widow in the 1930 census, when she is living in Colton City, California, with her sister Miranda and her husband J N Thompson. Genealogies report that Alpharetta died in 1942. She was buried in Rosedale Cemetery, Ada, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma.
The birth date of 16 August 1864 reported in the above genealogy is close to the the birth date in the 1900 census, Aug 1864, and his age there of 35. That census says they have been married 17 years, which means they were married about 1883.
----------------------
There is a J M Ingram buried in the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Oklahoma, where Alpharetta is buried, but his birth year is off by several years for her husband, and this J M Ingram did not die till 1954. This one was married to Mary E Ingram. Alpharetta 's husband died before 1930, according to the 1930 census, when she reported she was a widow. No death or burial information has been found for Alpharetta's husband.
