Notes

• The relationship of Arthur O'Dell McSwain to the McSwains reported here is uncertain.  The family do not remember the name of his father for sure, but remember him as a brother of George, father of Wiley Carew.  I find no Arthur in the censuses of the family of George's parents William and Judith.
  
  It is also possible he was a child of Julius L McSwain, rather than a brother.  If so, he would have been born after 1880, as there were only two children reported of J L and Viney in that census.  They do not appear in later Arkansas County censuses, nor does Arthur O'Dell.
