Roberts, Alferd Jr Son W M Dec 1899 5mos Single AR MI AL
Note that he is reported here as 5 months old, and thus born in December 1899. When he signed up for the WWI draft, he reported his birth date as 30 December 1900, which is impossible, since he was reported several months earlier in the census.
The Find-a-Grave memorial, presumably reporting the date on his gravestone, says he was born 30 Dec 1898. But surely the 1900 census is correct in this case. His parents would have known the difference between a 5-month old and a 17-month old, and would have known his birth date that early in the game. Later memory failed.

The draft registration provides his full name. This also clarifies how the first name is spelled. It appears in different sources as Alfred and Alford (as well as Alferd in the 1900 census). He signs it as Alford Zebdee Roberts, and it is entered this way on the card.
