James appears in records as James P.  In his sister Beatrix' obituary, he is referred to as Perk.  One record had the full middle name, the Veteran's Gravesite database. (see below).  In the 1930 census, the middle initials for Harry and James are switched:  Harry P, James C!  They are living with their father and stepmother in Maud, Oklahoma.

In 1941, when James P Jenkins enlists for WWII, he is listed as single, and living in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.  This is where his mother was living in 1930, as well as his older brother Joseph.

In 1952, James was listed along his brother Gene Jenkins in the city directory of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  Both were working as meatcutters, but at different markets.  James' wife is reported as Helen C.  A Dave Jenkins is also listed in the same directory, but his identified is unknown.

The U S Veteran's Gravesite database provides the full form of James' middle name.  This record also has a little different name for the cemetery of burial than that reported on the Veteran's Administration record for his military gravestone.  Apparently the birth date was correct incorrectly on  his stone after it was ordered.  Note that on the Headstone application (above), the birth date is 3 May 1918.

But on the grave, as reported in the Veteran's Gravesite and Find a Grave databases, the month has been changed to August.  The California death index reports the correct date of 3 May 1918, agreeing with the headstone order, reflecting family information and the death record.  When the birth date and other information was submitted to the memorial, it was updated as seen below.  I also saw incidentally that the creator of the memorial had transferred the memorial to me to manage.
