Several genealogies of different lineages report detailed information on Robert and his family that appears to include information from family sources. This includes his middle name, but the name is spelled Erwin, or in one case Ervin, rather than Irwin, which we would expect from the consistent census records. The Beam genealogy is one of these. This tree provides exact birth and death dates and places. But it reports Robert was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, instead of Georgia, as all the censuses, and several other genealogies. It is interesting that all the genealogies that have this detailed information report Spartanburg as the birth place, while those that lack the dates and name of the wife report his birthplace as Summerville, Chattooga County (Chattooga), Georgia.

Next I found the 1920 census, where for the first time, Robert's middle initial is an E. He has now moved west to Johnson County, Texas, south of Ft Worth, and is the city marshall of Burleson. The only child remaining in the home is Joshua. Here Robert now reports his mother as born in South Carolina, as her earlier censuses had indicated.

The 1900 census showed up next, and this also had the middle initial as E. Robert's mother's birth state is reported as Gerogia here.
