Notes
- David Beam was born in Geneva, Switzerland. His grandfather was born in Hamburg, Germany. Michael's son John Teeter Beam, also born in Hamburg, moved to Switzerland, where he married Rebecca Raynolds (Reynolds). In 1767 John Teeter moved his family to South Carolina. In 1778, Rebecca died and three years later John married a German woman in South Carolina, Elizabeth Rudolph.
