  • III. Third wife was Mah-Chetta-Wookey, who had a child when she married Quanah called Francis Parker, who died in the Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania.

    In the 1900 US census of Oklahoma Territory, Mah Che to Wock Ki's daughter is reported as Laura.  There was an earlier child of Quanah named Laura, born in 1882, according to the 1905 Comanche census.  Laura here matches Bessie in other lists.  That older Laura seems to be a daughter of Quanah's wife Ne-dah, who is not in the list on this page of the 1900 census.  Here it is odd that Laura's father is reported born in Texas, as is the father of two other children in this list.  But Quanah is definitely their father.

    Quanah died in 1911.  In the census that year, several of his wives and children show up in their own households.  We see here the mixed usage of English and Comanche names with individual family members.
