Two children are still in the home, plus two adopted children named Wright.

Living next door are Mary's father William McSwain and stepmother J (Judith Hamrick).  Two children are living in the home, one a widowed daughter.  Age problems make this family connection uncertain, and though this is the family configuration reported commonly in McSwain family compilations, there may be a generation missing, or other errors.

Mary is the daughter of WIlliam McSwain and Mary Nancy Bridges.  Mary's father William is thought to have been born in 1792 or so, yet in censuses, the husband of Judith has an age making him born about 1806.  J's age here, presumably the correct Judith Hamrick, has an age consistent with her birth in 1809 reported in genealogies.  William's age and birth year are the problem.  B McSwain here matches Berry McSwain who appears in the family lists.  M Lovelace matches Mary Polly McSwain, widow of William Lovelace.
