The first information I (Orville Boyd Jenkins) had about Francis Randolph came from her grandson, Marion Mixon, who contacted me and we have worked together on the Jacksons and Greens and related lines considerably.  In most sources her full name is spelled as Francis, rather than Frances.  She was known as Fannie.

In 1900, we find Fannie Randolph in the first census of Indian Territory, with her mother, who is reported under her first married name of Talitha Jackson.  There was some indication that Talitha married an Elijah Jackson, and the father's name on Fannie's birth certificate is Eliga [Elijah] Randolph, but the certificate reports mother unknown.  (Birth certificate information was provided by Fannie's daughter Audna Mae Brinkley Morris, according to Jackson-Mixon family information.)

So there was some thought among the family that Talitha raised Elijah Randolph's daughter as her own, but was not her mother.  All these sources and possibilities have been extensively researched and analyzed by Fannie's grandchildren Marion Mixon and his sister Cindy Mixon Beam, who have worked with me on the Green-Jackson families.

If Talitha was married to Elijah Randolph, then it appears that Talitha reverted to her Jackson name when Fannie's father Elijah Randolph left them.  In 1900 Talitha and Fannie are living with Talitha's daughter Alice and her husband Newton Philpot.

In 1902, Fannie was baptized by the Freewill Baptist Church of Burneyville, Love County, Oklahoma.  Her Baptism Record reads:
"Fannie Randolph professed faith in Christ in the year of our Lord 1902 and united with the Freewill Baptist church at Burnieville [sic], Oklahoma."

I found the census for Forrest and Fannie in 1920-30.  1920 reports her name as Fannie T.  The 1910 and 1930 censuses do not have her middle initial, and also list her by her nickname Fannie.  Francis actually had four given names, according to a famliy sources.

"She was named after all the aunts.  Francis Telitha Cindy Clarenda (miss spelled probably).  Her father Alegia [Elijah] Randolph left Oklahoma a month before she was borned.  He took his son Lee Randolph who was 10 years with him.  He went to Weatherford to sell land.  He never came back. She said they thought he was from Campot [Camp Potts, or Potts Camp], Miss."

Note that here the middle initial of Fannie is reported as T, which would stand for the name Telitha/Talitha.  The most common initial in family sources is C.  Family sources report that the T is for Talitha.  A family Bible with some birth dates reports "Francis Tlitha [sic] Brinkley was born May 25, 1881"

Two Poll Tax Receipt were found in Fannie's Trunk after her death, now in the possession of her son Marion Mixon.  These documents reported the length of residence in the state and the county.  Note the large discrepancy in these periods of time between the 1921 and 1927 documents.  In 1921, Fannie is reported to have lived in Texas for 35 years and in Parker County for only 2 years.  But in 1927, the figures report Texas residence 20 years and Parker County residence 20 years.

In 1920 and 1930 birthplace of Fannie's father is now reported as Mississippi, whereas in 1900 it was Texas.

In 1930, Fannie's husband Forrest is listed this time as Lee.  Forrest's father Andrew W is living with them.

Note that the place of birth is given here as Ardmore, Oklahoma.  The information of Fannie's birth in Ardmore must have been reported by family members at the time of her death.  Yet some family members believe she was born in Marietta, in Love County (south of Ardmore), where various members of the Jackson and related Green families lived.  Marietta is recorded as her birthplace in a Family Record shared with me by her grandson Marion Mixon.  Other relatives lived in Marietta.  My grandmother Alpharetta Mae Green, daughter of Toliver Jorile Green and Fannie's second cousin, was born in Marietta.

"GREENWOOD, TEXAS (Parker County). Greenwood, four miles west of Weatherford in central Parker County, began to form in the early 1880s. Residents named the settlement after a live oak tree near their one-room schoolhouse. Greenwood served primarily as a community center for area farmers and ranchers. In the 1980s the only evidence of the community's existence was the Greenwood Cemetery, near Farm Road 3028."
