Notes
- I had an early entry in my genealogy for a Belle Padgett, as the wife of George Williams. I could tell from the census entries that she had been previously married to a Padgett, but had not been able to make the exact connection. I had not been able to determine her maiden name or family. In January 2009, I got an email from her grandson Jimmy Jones, who gave me her full name and family connections.
"My grandmother was Nancy Bell Jenkins m. George Williams. ... Nancy Bell Jenkins was married to a Padgett first & he was killed in a logging accident. Then she married George Williams who had just moved into the Ethel area."
I did not find their entry in the 1910 census for a long time, but in September 2009, I was able to clarify which Padgett was the father of Belle's children. I had a W E Padgett as son of Burl Wiley Padgett, but did not have enough details for him to tie him to a wife and children. The 1910 census filled in the missing details and I was able to connect these individuals properly.

Notice that Jana has reported the wedding date as 31 Oct 1903. According to the marriage record, this is the date of the marriage license. The marriage date was 1 Nov 1903. Note also that Jana reports WE's birth date as 5 February 1880. His memorial on Find a Grave interprets the gravestone as 6 February 1880. The photo posted on the memorial is low resolution so cannot be read definitively for verification. I looks more like a 6 than a 5.
