Notes

  • The 1920 census says that Mary Ann was born in Texas, but the 1930 census says it was Oklahoma.  In 1920 the Yates were living near Wichita Falls, Texas, in Burkburnett, a community on the Red River named after famous rancher Burk Burnett, who was a close friend of Quanah Parker.

In the 1930 census Mary Ann's middle name is spelled Anne.  That census has several names misspelled, plus the writing is smeary and there are vertical fade lines in the page which make it hard to decipher the entries.

In 1930, the family is back in Oklahoma, living in North Cobb Township of Caddo County, Oklahoma.
