    Thomas Tillman Temple, Jr.

TEMPLE Thomas Tillman Temple, Jr., age 81, passed away October 29, 2005 in Clemmons, NC. He was born January 13, 1924 to Thomas T. and Blanch A. Temple in Port Arthur, TX

Tom graduated from Port Arthur High School and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in February 1943. He served his country in World War II and was a true hero to his family.  He retired from Edison Brothers in 1986 and moved back to Oklahoma City with his wife, June, in 1988. After her passing he moved to Clemmons, NC in 1997.

Tom met June during his R&R leave in Oklahoma City and the romance continued after he returned to duty. He married Veva "June" Hill on March 4, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in August 1995.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Louis Temple and daughter Terry Ann. He is survived by his children Ann Holman and her husband Richard of Oklahoma City, Terry Starchich and her husband Jon of Marietta, GA and Tom Temple, III and his wife Kathy of Clemmons, NC. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rich Holman, Travis Holman and wife Brooke and their son - Tom's great-grandson -- Jacob, Shadryn Long and husband John, Elisabeth Starchich and Tom Temple, IV and wife Jenny.

He is also survived by his sister-in-law Pat Temple and son Brett Temple of Dallas, TX. He will be truly missed by family and friends.

Tom loved his family immensely and was a true handy man. He enjoyed working with wood, making many gifts for his family and friends. You would never see Tom without his buddies, English pugs - Susie and Birdie, whom he spoiled terribly.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, OK. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
