- His full name was probably Oliver. There are several Olivers over the generations in the McSwain line in both North Carolina and Arkansas. His grave has the name Ollie V McSwain. We have not discovered what the initial V stands for. But he had a cousin in North Carolina named Oliver Victor, so his name may also be Victor.
His name is misentered on the Arkansas Death Index as McSwaine, one of the many ways we see the name spelled over the decades.
