Notes
- In the 1900 census, Mary is listed as Mary L. But her granddaughter Judy Holsted Oldziewski, tells me her name was Mary Magdalene Smith. The L was for Lena, the nickname many knew her by. Mary L is found in the 1900 census, and in varius other records. Her son Grover's Social Security record reports his mother's name as Mary L Smith.

The memorial for her on Find a Grave has her name as Mary Lee Smith instead of Mary Magdelene Smith. Her obituary included here does recognize the name Magdelene in the full name given here, using the nickname Maggie for the given name Magdelene, then add the name Lee. The memorial does not acknowledge the name Magdelene in her name of the memorial.
