We see here that Ben has reported he had been married 49 years. He married his first wife Amy in late 1850. So 49 years would be up to 1899. But Emily died in 1892. So it look like it should have been 41 years. Note also his birth year is off, as we normally find about half the time in the 1900 census. Previous census ages would make his birth year 1826. The month here is different too. The birth date on his gravestone is March 7, 1826.
