In 1900 the Comanche tribe and other tribes whose land was in Oklahoma Territory were enumerated in the US census of that territory.  The enumerator has reported Quanah's and his parents' birth state as Texas, yet for all the children still at home, Tope se up, Honnnie, Laura and Kelsey, he has reported their father as born in Oklahoma Territory.
