- Robert is first recorded in the 1870 census in Parker County, Texas, where he was born 9 years before. His father is listed here as J J instead of I J (for Isaac Jefferson). I J's wife here is Robert's stepmother, Mary Jane Osborne Kincaid, whom Isaac married in 1866. Robert's mother Edna Biggs died at some date before that. Note the two step-brothers named Kincaid (spelled Kincade by the enumerator).
