• In 1900 and 1910, Byrd is living with his parents on their farm in Jack County, Texas.  1900 Federal Census, Jack County, Texas, 7 June,  Justice Precinct 2, District 36, page 5B-6A, Hse #96, Fam #100 Harman, John T Head W M Jul 1869  30 Married 10 yrs TX TN AL Farmer Rents -- page 6A -- Harman, Ella Wife W F Dec 1871  28 Married 10 yrs MO TN TX Harman, Byrd L Son W M Mar 1891  9 TX TX MO  1910 Federal Census, Jack County, Texas, 17 May, Justice Precinct 2, District 143, page 15A, Hse #205, Fam #206 Harman, John T Head M W 40  Married 20 years Texas Tennessee Alabama Farming Rents Harman, Joe (Jo, for Joella) E  Wife F W 38   Married 20 years Missouri Tennessee Kentucky Byrd L Harman Son M W 19 TX TX MO  The information provided in Byrd Lee Harman's WWI Draft Registration is fascinating.  His birth date is confirmed as 23 Mar 1891.  Byrd indicates he is employed by the State in Abilene, which is in Taylor County, about 3 hours drive west of Fort Worth.  The registration was certified by the County Clerk in Taylor County, which indicates he registered in Abilene.  He gives his residence as Perrino.  This is listed in curretn lists as Perrin.  Perrin is a community (unincorporated) in Jack County, where Jacksboro is the county seat, about a hour drive north of Forth Worth.  And his address is reported as District 15, Jack County, Texas.  But though he employed by the state, he states his profession or occupation as Farmer.  This information does not indicate whether his farm is in Jack County or Taylor.  I would expect it is in Jack County, since that is where his residence is (Perrino) and also where his father's family was living in 1910.  He states that his place of birth is Joplin, Texas.  He has two children at this time.  By 1920, Byrd has married and moved to Arlington Heights, Tarrant County, Texas, where Byrd works as a postal clerk.  1920 Federal Census, Tarrant County, Texas, 1 March, Precinct 1, District 87, page 26B, Arlington Heights, Stover Foundry Rd, Hse #205, Fam #206 Harman, Byrd L Head M W 28 TX MO TX Postal Clerk Harman, Nettie Wife F W 28 TX TN TX Harman, Covil C Son M W 6 TX TX TX Harman, Cecil Son M W 4yrs 1mo  TX TX TX  Notice that the birth states of his parents are switched from the 1910 record.  Carvel's name is scrawled and appears to be written Covil C.  The age of Cecil here is puzzling.  It appears to be written 4/12, but the number above the 12 is blurred and on a line.  It should be 8/12, with a March birthday.  His birthday is in March 1915, according Social Security records.  In 1930, Byrd is still working as a postal clerk in Tarrant County.  They are now living a little farther west in Fort Worth  1930 Federal Census, Tarrant County, Texas, 8 April, District 52, Page 4A, Ft Worth, 2309 Lake Avenue, Hse #100, Fam #143 Byrd L Harman 39 Head TX TX MO Postal Clerk Nettie Harman 38 Wife TX TN TX Carrel [Carvel?] C Harman 16 Son TX TX TX Cecil D Harman 15 Son TX TX TX Pauline Harman 9 Daughter TX TX TX Wanda Harman 6 Daughter TX TX TX  I did not find the death information for Byrd until March 2008.  The Texas Death Index reports the information tersely as follows: Byrd L.
