Notes
- The dates for birth of children and the birth date of Thomas' wife Mary Matlock, produce anomalies. For instance, Thomas' birth is reported as in 1810, as commonly reported, Mary Matlock's birth date is always reported as the year 1815. Yet her first child is reported as John Calvin Hill, born in 1828 (see Find a Grave profile below and vairous genealogies). That would mean John was born when Mary was about 14! How likely is that? Possible on the outside, but is it likley?
Would Thomas have been married to someone else who was John's mother? I note that it was 6 years before the next reported child, Elizabeth in 1835. In 1935, Mary Matlock would have been about 20 at Elizabeth's death in 1835. That would place their marriage in about 1833 or 1834, when amry would be about 18 or 19.
