The 17-year old son here does not appear in the 1910 census, when he should be 7 years old. A 7-year-old child was reported in the 1910 census, though, under the name Daniel. In examining all the censuses, it becomes clear that the enumerator in 1910 wrote Manuel's name as Daniel. Daniel never appears again, and Manuel L is well-documented.

Several genealogies, though, seem to have confused Manuel with another son who died early named Manus H. Both Manuel and Manus are buried in the Bailey Cemetery, near Rush Springs in Grady County, Oklahoma. Manus was born in 1906 and died in 1907.
