Hereinafter cited as The Complete Peerage, Volume XIV. --  The Peerage, http://www.thepeerage.com/p13768.htm  Several family genealogies report William Butler and his branch of the lineage.  Illustrative is the following.  William Botiler, Birth 1296-09-08 [date differs from the Peerage info, which provides no location] in Wem, Shropshire, England Death 1361-12 in Wem Oversley, Shropshire, England;  Parents William Butler 1274-1335, Beatrea Butler Botiller 1278-1306. --  Ancestry Trees, Bundy, http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/1471533/person/-1936590106?ssrc=&ftm=1  Note that the place of death is reported here as Wem Oversley, Shropshire.  As far as I have been able to determine, there is no location named Oversley in Shropshire.  Oversley is a location Warwickshire, where some sources indicate the Butlers had connections.  This place of death should thus be reported as Wem, unless we find alternative information indicating the place of death was Oversley, Warwickshire, instead.  The Peerage indicates birth and death at Wem.
