    FAIRFIELD RECORDER, Feb 10, 1949 [Thursday] Fairfield, Texas
    Mrs. Yates Dies in Fort Worth, Saturday Morning

    Mrs. Annie Laura Yates, 80, of Fort Worth, died in a Fort Worth hospital at 3:30 A.M. Saturday [5 Feb 1949] following a long illness.  Funeral services were held Monday [7 Feb 1949] afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Guardian Funeral Home, with burial in Rose Hill.

    Mrs. Yates was a native of Fairfield and the wife of the late W. H. V. Yates.  Mr. and Mrs. Yates celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in December 1947.  Her husband preceeded her in death February 21, 1948.

    Surviving Mrs. Yates are two sons, Vail of Monrovial [Monrovia], Calif., and Neil Yates of Weatherford;
    four daughters, Mrs. J. J. Pewthers of Mountain View, Okla; Mrs. G. C. Dunham and Mrs. O. C. Whitaker of Fort Worth, and Mrs. Rex Collins of Santa Ana, Calif; a sister Mrs. Joh Nix of Carnegie, Okla;
    two brothers, J. E. of Healdton, Okla. and D. A. Horn of Hotckhkiss, Colo.;
    12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and 14 great-[great-]grandchildren.

    Those from Fairfield attending the funeral services, in Fort Worth, Monday were a niece, Mrs. T. R. Bonner, Mrs. Forrest Wood, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bonner.

    Mrs. Laura Yates Dies in Ft. Worth
    Services for Mrs. Anna Laura Yates, 80, who died Feb. 5, were Monday of last week in Fort Worth. Mr. Yates died Feb. 21, 1949, at the age of 89. Pioneers in the Mountain View community, Mr. and Mrs. Yates were indentified with the early growth of the community. They formerly were in business in Mountain View.
    A sister, Mrs. John Nix of this place, and a daughter, Mrs. J.J. Pewthers, of Mountain View, attended the funeral.
    Other survivors include two sons, Vail of Monrovia, Calif., and Neil of Weatherford, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. G.C. Dunham and Mrs. O.C.
