Will of William Wilson of Flat Creek, Hall County, Georgia

The will of William Wilson of Flat Creek was dated 30 January 1849 and probated 5 March 1849, and recorded in Hall County, Georgia, Will Book A, 1837-1867, pp. 51-53.

The will named his wife Rachel and children:
John H. Wilson, Thomas S. Wilson, Washington G. Wilson, Wiley T. Wilson, Richard T. Wilson, William A. Wilson, Benjamin F. Wilson, Narcissa Wilson, and
    grandson William C. Dawson.

    The will was witnessed by
    W. E. Wilson,
    John Stringer, and
    A. S. Wilson.

    W. E. Wilson was my uncle William E. Wilson, son of Robert and Jane (Hillhouse) Wilson of Pendleton County, SC, and Hall County, GA, and W. E. Wilson had married Nancy Wilson who was thought by my family to be a sister of William Wilson of Flat Creek.

    A. S. Wilson was Andrew S. Wilson who had married my aunt Elizabeth Ann W. Wilson, daughter of Robert and Jane (Hillhouse) Wilson, and Andrew S. Wilson was thought by my family to have been a brother of William Wilson of Flat Creek. In addition, the families were believed to be blood cousins in the direct Wilson line, which, if so, would have made at least three connections between the William Wilsons of Flat Creek and my Robert Wilson family in Hall County.

As my prior postings show, Robert Wilson (c.1765-c.1842) of Hall County was a son of John Wilson, Sr. (c.1740-c.1823) and wife Elizabeth Wilson of Saluda River, Pendleton County, SC, and previously of York County, SC.

    William L "Uncle Billy" Wilson
    Birth 1803
    Death Apr. 12, 1894

Thought to be the son of Joshua Wilson, Sr (1760-1848) and his wife Rebecca Lucille Hamilton (1774-1852)
Unmarked adult grave as of survey period 2001-2003.
    Age 92 years.

All info from obituary in Sparta Ishmaelite, Apr 13, 1894.  He is probably buried here based on obituary:
"Mr. Wm. L. Wilson died yesterday afternoon, aged 92 years. He will be buried today in his family burying ground, by the side of his wife.  He has been helpless for months, and death was to him a cheerful visitor.  Uncle Billy, as he was called, was ready to go. He was a faithful Christian, a fact which leaves nothing to be said."

    Parents Joshua Wilson (1760 - 1848)
    Spouse Rachel Lowery Wilson (1801 - 1880)
