Notes

Minnie Ola's name is spelled as two names in most sources. In most censuses she is listed as Minnie O or Minnie. The 1880 census lists her as Minneola. In 1900 we find Minnie living with her widowed father and older single sister Mollie, who appears to be the Mary of the 1880 census. They are in Lonoke County, living in the town of Austin Station. Minnie is 25 years old at this time. Two doors down from them is a widower named Thomas J Shelton and several children. Minnie will marry Thomas Jefferson Shelton shortly after this census, as we find in 1910 that they have been married 10 years. 1900 Federal Census, Lonoke County, Arkansas, 5 June.
