• We get a birthday for Iler in the 1900 Census, where her family is living in Union Township.

  Note the error in father's birthplace.  On her father's line, his birthplace is shown as Mississippi and for his father it is in England.  But on all the children, the enumerator put the children's father's birthplace as England also, ignoring that he had put Mississippi for the father's birthplace!  In the later censuses the father's birthplace is reported correctly.
  
  This birth date differs from that found written in her uncle's Bible.  In William (Bud) Jenkins' Bible there is an entry showing the birth of Eler Christian, 17th Nov 1888 (reported in the private paper Jenkins Family History by Harold Keith Chritian).
  
  The birth date of August 1890 is confirmed by a birth certificate discovered by Harold Keith Christian, which he reports in the Peter Christian Family History (unpublished).  Thanks to Judy Oldziewski for transcribing and providing the text of this history:
  
  "In an 1890 Record of Birth on file in Cass County, TX (Delayed reports, volume 29, page 178) for Bill?s daughter Iler Frances, his age was given as 42 on 10 August 1890 (date of the record)."
  
  This report gives us the actual day of birth in addition to the moth and year reported in the census, and also provides Iler's middle name.

  The age difference makes me question the birth date that was recorded in the 1900 census.  Iler is reported as 9 years old in 1900, with a birth date of August 1890.  The census date is 1 August, so that matches.  Yet in 1910, the census is earlier in the year, May, yet she is reported as already 20 years old!
  
  In April 2013 I ofund one genealogy who gave a source for Iler's death information.  The California Death Index is a very helpful source, since mother's maiden name is included int eh index details.
