Notes

• George is the only child of the marriage of Minnie Lee Green Thompson to Claud James Jones.  His birth year in genealogies and on his grave is 1910.  But his mother did not marry Claud Jones until November 1910.  He may have been born or conceived before the marriage.  No exact date of birth has been found.  In 1 January 1920, he was reported as only 8 years old, and the age of 19 reported in the 1930 census would be consistent with a birth date after April 1911.

  George and his mother Minnie Lee Jones (née Green) share a footstone marker for a grave in North Kern Cemetery, McFarland, California.  George's father and grandmother are buried in New Johnsonville Cemetery in Byars, McClain County, Oklahoma, where his parents lived before his mother and he moved to California.  George's memorial on Find a Grave with my updates in February 2015 are presented here.
