The 1900 census reported that Elisha and his wife Laura have been married 7 years, making the marriage about 1903. With the birth date of James Richard reported as August 1899, we can say that the first wife died between August 1889 and some time in 1893. When Elisha married his second wife Laura. The 1900 census reports that Elisha and Laura have been married 7 years at the 1900 census). Elisha and Laura's first child was born in Chickasaw Nation in about 1895.
Her husband's death certificate identifies the informant as Mrs Sallie Grubbs. The had no daughter name Sarah, who might be called Sallie, but this could be a daughter-in-law.
