Clarice Cavin
1932-2010
July 14, 2010
Clarice Mary Beebe Cavin died on June 25, 2010, in Napa, surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Scott Beebe of Fairfield (his wife, JoAnn, and their three children, Geoffrey Beebe, Michelle Brewer and Melissa Ermitano, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren) and Mark Beebe of St. Helena (and his wife Tracee Beebe and son Drew).
A resident of Napa for the last 10 years, she was born on Dec. 2, 1932, in Los Angeles. She graduated from Los Angeles High School and married Grant Beebe in 1952. They settled in Fresno, where her two sons were born and where she worked for the county assessor’s office.
In later years, she married Tom Cavin and they moved to Belmont, where she worked for Ampex. They moved to Napa in 1969 and Clarice began what became a 28-year career of working at the Veterans Home in Yountville, where she achieved the title of estates officer.
When she retired in 1997, she traveled widely, taking trips to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada. She enjoyed watching old movies, musical theater and listening to classical music. She was also a member of the Native Californian Society. After living in Suisun for some years, she moved back to Napa in 2000. She was also a car enthusiast, proud of her first car, a 1947 Studebaker; she also was proud of her 1967 lime-green Mustang. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Terry and Claude Terry, husbands Grant Beebe and Tom Cavin, and granddaughter Mary Pann.
Burial and memorial arrangements are private. Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
