Sam married about 1865.  Their first child, Mary Ann, was born about 1866, according to the 1870 census.  Nancy's age of 3 matches her date of birth reported on Find a Grave or 24 May 1867.  The memorial calls her Nancy Ann, though Ann seems to be the middle name of Mary, reported in 1870 as Mary A.
