  • Some genealogies report that after Charles died, Myra married Charles Lee's cousin.  They give the name as William Wade Cowart.  But I found that in the Atlanta City Directory he is listed as C Wade Cowart.  They wre living in the city of Decatur in 1937.

    Funeral conducted in Mt Rachel Church by Rev C C Maples.
    Burial with Woodmen of the World and Odd Fellowship honors was "Tuesday," thus based on publication date of 29 August on Thursday, burial was on 27 August 1918.

    Obituary:

    The Marietta Journal & Courier August 30, 1918
    Mr Lee Cowart, 34 years old, died at his home on Hansell Street on Sunday afternoon, after a long illness.

    The funeral services were held at the house at 8 o'clock on Sunday evening, the Rev I A White officiating.

    The remains were taken to the old family home at Dalton on Monday for interment.

    Mr. Cowart is survived by his wife and two little daughters. Among the floral offerings was a large crescent of beautiful flowers from the employees of the McNeel Marble Company, where Mr Cowart had a position before his illness.
