• Details are lacking on why Arthur's last name is spelled Simmons.George McSwain remembers family tradition as indicating that after thedeath of Thomas Seamons, Jennie Miller Seamons married another mannamed Simmons.  We cannot find details of this second husband.  But itappears Arthur Simmons was a son of this second marriage.
  
  In 1910 Arthur is living with his grandfather, widower J  W Miller,along with his mother and her two Seamons (Seamans) daughters, Lillieand Ethel.  Interestingly, Jennie's name is also reported as Seamans,rather than Simmons.  So it appears that she took her original marriedname back.  She is also shown as Divorced rather than widowed.
