James Marvin went by Marvin. In the 1920 Arkansas County, Arkansas,Census, he is even listed as Marvin J, age 6. His gravestone has JMarvin. His father was listed in several sources, including hisgravestone, as James M. His father was James Magnus, I documentedthe name of Marvin's father when I found James Magnus' WWI DraftRegistration information in January 2008.

Marvin was married to widow Katherine Engle Martin Rawls on 24September 1938. The Arkansas Marriage index records their names asMarvin McSwain and Katherin Rowls [sic]. They were divorced after thebirth of two children. We understand he was married again later, butdo not have details.

Like his father, Marvin also died by suicide, in July 1957.
