In 1880, Jerrome is living in the household of his brother Elias alongwith two other brothers.  Here the brother matching most closely theage/birth date of Jerrome in the previous census is listed as DaltonJ.  Thus we can deduce that his full name was Dalton Jerrome.  Notethat his nephew, Elias' son, is named after him.

Another Mullins researcher, Charlotte Claborn, reports the names ofhis bothers as Brantley wrote them on his application for recognitionas an Easter Cherokee.  It is odd that he does not list the name ofDalton Jerrome.  Could this be because he is a half-brother, the sonof Jane, rather than Elizabeth?  The date of death of Elizabeth isuncertain.  I had supposed she died in childbirth with Jerrome in1863.  But this and his absence from Brantleys list of brothersindicates he is Jane's son, not Elizabeth's.

"Doctor Brantley Mullen in his eastern cherokee application stated hisbrothers names were:  Christopher Columbus Mullins, Elias MullowMullins, Mc Pierson B. Mullins, and that he had no sisters."
