• Date of birth from SS Death Index, 8 Jun 1889, though an exact date,differs from the month and date given in the 1900 census:  Aug 1889.This census month agrees with information from Arthur's sister,Jennie, in the exact birth date of 6 August 1889.  Arthur's gravestonein Marlow Cemetery gives only the year of birth and death, August1889.

  In 1910, Arthur is still on the farm with his parents.  The 1930census gives us the information of when he was married.  In 1930 weare told that Arthur married when he was 22 years old and his wifeLela was 20.  That would be about 1912.  In 1930 their daughter Joan Pis 6 years old.  That would make her born about 1923.
  
  1917 -- We learn a lot from Arthur's WWI Draft Registration, filledout in June 1917:
  Arthur Wiley Terry, b 6 August 1889, Dalton, Georgia; draftobjections: "Religious conscientious scruples," Farmer, addressMarlow, Stephens, Oklahoma; tall, brown eyes, dark hair; registered inRichland Precinct 1, Stephens, Oklahoma, 15 June 1917.
  
  First of all we find he states his town of birth, which I have notseen before in any source.  I never had any town of birth for any ofThomas Duncan and Mattie's children.  The town is in Dalton, which inWhitfield County, Georgia, not Murray, which is the only location inGeorgia I find associated with the Terrys. Dalton is about 4 or 5miles into Whitfield form the Murray County line.
  
  I found that Whitfield County was created out of the original MurrayCounty, which was itself a creation in 1832 out of Cherokee County.  Ido not have enough information about the specific location of theTerry family to know if some of the children besides Arthur were bornin territory that was actually by that time designated as WhitfieldCounty.  In each census they are reported as living within MurrayCounty.
  
  In 1920, Arthur is no longer farming, as reported in his WWI DraftRegistration in 1917, but both he and Lela are working in the town ofMarlow.  He is in a grocery store while she is a sales person in a drygoods store.

  Note that Arthur's mother is reported as born in Texas, not NorthCarolina.
  
  The 1930 census, where Arthur first appears married, reports his as35.  The census, taken in April 1930, would make him born in 1894.According to the 1900 census and the family information, Arthur's agein April 1930 should have been 38 or 39.
  
  Likewise his wife's birth year differs from that reported on hergravestone in the Marlow Cemetery.  Lela is reported as 33 years old,which would make her birth year 1896, but her grave says she was bornin 1893.  That makes a 3-year gap.  According to the birth date on hergravestone, Lela should have been 36 or 37.

  I have not yet found this family in the 1920 census.
