I found some genealogies that include this family.  The following onehas a date of death for George, whom the genealogy names GeorgeWilliam.  But the date of death is 10 years before he is enumerated inthe 1880 census.  So the genealogy has given this son of ThomasMcSwain and Selena Bridges the date of death for another GeorgeMcSwain.

    George William McSwain
    Birth 1827 in North Carolina
Death 4 Jul 1870 in Boiling Springs, Cleveland, North Carolina [wronginfo]
    Parents Thomas McSwain 1796 - 1872, Salena W Frankie Bridges 1793 -1862

This error in the death date also brings into question the middlename, and likely the place of burial.  As I looked further, Idiscovered several genealogies who have this date of death forGeorge's brother William D.  This date of death is not documented inthese genealogies, alas, but I found WIlliam in the Boiling SpringsCemtery registry online.  The above genealogy reported the place ofburial for George as Boilng Springs, along with the date for William.
