Notes

  • Mike Taylor, an excellent Mullins researcher, reports that Elizabethis a sister to Malvina Caldwell, wife of James P. Mullins.

It appears that Elizabeth died about 1861.  This estimate is based acombination of factors.  Her son Brantley, in his application forrecognition as an Eastern Cherokee, does not list Jerrome among hisbrothers.  Jerrome is reported as age 7 in the 1870 census, whereGreen Mullins' wife is a Jane, whose last name is unknown.  If Jerromeis Jane's son, this may be why Brantley did not include him in theCherokee application.  But if Jerrome is the son of Jane, thenElizabeth must have did at least a year or so before his birth as theson of Jane.
