  This genealogy has a different date of death than most.  While someothers report this date, the most common is 10 March 1963.  None ofthe genealogies I have found give an objective source for their date,and I have not seen a grave photo or cemetery report.  My step-sisterconfirmed that the March date was correct.
  
  "That is my Grandma who lived with us until she died in March.  Idon't know where the Oct 3 came from. The first grave stone put up wasa homemade one by my Uncle Earl Harmon.  Mom Put a new one up a fewyears back.  I haven't seen it. It marked Grandma's and my Daddy'sgrave."

  Mallissa's birth state was reported as Alabama in 1910, consistentlyin her record and the record for the birthplace of all the children.In 1920, this changed consistently to become Mississippi!

  In 1930 other changes occur in the report.  Her place of birth is backto Alabama, but her father's place of birth is now Arkansas, insteadof Mississippi:

  In the 1930 census, when Malissa (Malissia) is a widow, her grown sonClimmie, age 25, is still with her in the home, and her youngestdaughter Eunice, age 17.  They live next door to Malissa's son fromher first marriage, Alfred (Roberts, 31, who is listed as AlfordMcPherson.
  
  Two doors down the other direction is James Harmon and family.  A fewmonths later (28 Jan 1911) Eunice marries one of James' sons Earl.

  There is a discrepancy here on the year of death.  The gravetranscription reports the Malissa (M J) died in 1919, yet she isenumerated in the 1920 and 1930 censuses.  This would make me think itis a different M J McPherson, but the year of birth matches.  No photois included in the Find a Grave memorial, so I am unable to confirmthis reading of the date of death form the gravestone.  Given thisproblem, I will continue to follow the genealogies reporting Malissa'sdeath in 1963.  There remains the discrepancy over the date, 10 Mar1963 or 3 Oct 1963.
