In the 1860 census, Samuel and Elizabeth Tatum are living in Pickens County, Georgia.

1860 Federal Census, Pickens County, Georgia, 25 June, PO Marble Works, page 953, Hse #628, Fam #535
    Tatum, Samuel 20 M W Farmer  $140 Personal b North Carolina (b abt 1840)
    Tatum, Elizabeth 18 F W Georgia
    Tatum, Missouri 2 F W Georgia
    Tatum, Amanda 4 months F W Georgia [b abt Feb 1860]
    Tatum, Hugh 14 M Alabama

Family history of the Gregorys of Oklahoma reports Amanda's birthday as 22 February 1861, but we see that here she was recorded in the 1860 census.  The month of February matches the age of 4 months reported in the census.  The year should be 1860.  The year was somehow recorded wrong or remembered wrongly in family memory.

I cannot place this Hugh Tatum.  This would be a nephew, I imagine, of Sam and Elizabeth.

Next door to Sam and Elizabeth are George Ross Mullins and his wife Mary Elvira Bailey and their children.  Two doors down the other way are James and Melvina Mullins, and on the other side of them is Green Mullins and his wife Elizabeth.  Green and James are brothers of George Ross.

The parents in this census record match very well with family tradition reporting Sam and Lizzie Tatum's ages and birthplaces as the parents of Amanda A Tatum West.
